"The military, with the support of PRO5, PNP and the LGU of Bulan, Sorsogon, will facilitate the transport of at least 120 tons of relief goods prepared by DSWD Region 5 to the typhoon devastated municipalities of Eastern Samar. LTGEN CAESAR RONNIE ORDOYO, Comdr of the AFP's Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) was able to secure the services of the Monte Carlo Seafright, Inc. for the availability of its cargo vessel to transport the relief goods that will benefit at least 15,000 families. The cargo vessel is expected to arrive Bulan Port in Sorsogon province anytime on Thursday, Dec 5. The 9th Infantry (Spear) Division, Philippine Army deployed at least six (6) vehicles starting Wednesday to preposition relief goods at the Bulan Port. Army personnel from the 31st Inf Bn and the LGU of Bulan, Sorsogon will do Bayanihan activities to transfer the relief goods from the military trucks to the cargo vessel docked at the Bulan Port. The PNP in Region 5 provides the manpower for the loading of the relief goods at the Albay Astrodome. This would be a difficult task to undertake considering the many shuttles that we have to make to complete the delivery of more or less 4,000 sacks of relief goods over a distance of more than 120 kilometers. We pray for strength, fair weather and good performance of our vehicles to accomplish this noble task".
