JTF Bicolandia All Set for Election Duty

 

 

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur--- The Commission on Election (COMELEC) together with the Joint Task Force Bicolandia, Philippine National Police-PRO 5, and other members of Regional Joint Security Control Center (RJSCC) conducted its final meeting for the upcoming 2019 Midterms Election at Camp Simeon Ola, Legaspi City, Albay on Thursday afternoon, May 2.

The meeting was spearheaded by Atty. Noli R. Pipo, Regional Election Director, together with Dir. Anthony C. Nuyda, DILG-V, Maj. Gen. Fernando T. Trinidad, Commander JTF Bicolandia, Police Brig Gen. Arnel B. Escobal- PRO5 Regional Director, Brig. Gen. Peale Jon L. Bondoc, Commander JTG Halalan, Provincial Election Supervisors, Brigade Commanders, PNP Provincial Directors, and Battalion Commanders.

Among the highlights of the meeting were the Election Security Plan for the six provinces of Bicol Region wherein details for the security deployment, contingencies and other necessary preparations where thoroughly discussed. The JTF Bicolandia and PRO5 also gave assurance that there will be enough forces for the municipalities included in the “watchlist areas”.

Based on the data, a total of 59 municipalities were classified as areas of ‘immediate concern’ or under orange category while 21 municipalities were included in the areas of ‘grave concern’ or under red category.  

Towards the end of the meeting, the body unanimously agreed that continuously  coordinate and share information to achieve all the objectives set forth for the anticipated democratic exercise.  

In his message, Maj. Gen. Trinidad assured the members of the RJSCC that the JTF Bicolandia remains committed in the implementation of its delegated tasks. He further said that the activation of the Joint Task Group “HALALAN” will ensure that security preparations and necessary adjustments for the forthcoming election will be carried out. 

Amidst of election preparations, Maj. Gen. Trinidad once again reminded the troops to be non-partisan and continue the conduct of security operations against the peace spoilers who might take advantage of the election activities.

 

“We stand firm by our role in the election process that is why we are intensifying our efforts to prevent the lawless elements particularly the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) from conducting atrocities to make sure that our people   can freely exercise their ‘right to suffrage’ without worries”, he said.
