IED, Explodes Near the Construction Site of Bicol International Airport

 

 

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur-Hot pursuit operation is on-going after an explosion that transpired at Barangay Gapo, Daraga, Albay, just beside the on-going construction of Bicol International Airport around 9:35 in the morning today, July 26.

 According to the report, government troops heard a loud explosion prompting them to immediately search the area.

 It was learned that an improvised explosive device (IED) exploded near a dump truck owned by a construction firm, Querpo Company which was parked at the said construction site and incurred damage.

 Three hundred meters away from the place of incident, authorities saw the two fleeing suspects.

 Pursuing troops fired upon the said malefactors who were seen scampering towards different directions.

 Joint Task Force Bicolandia (JTFB) condemned the incident which it considers as another form of sabotaging the on-going construction of the very first international airport in Bicol region.

 While Philippine National Police (PNP) is now conducting a thorough investigation, JTFB also assured the public of its own investigation and castigate the persons or group responsible for this violent attack.
